Want to Create an Amazing Recruiting Video in One Day?

There’s no question about it — today, showcasing employee sentiment is essential to making your growing company stand out. We live in the Glassdoor-age, my friends, and the voices and opinions of your employees are becoming significant factors when recruiting new talent.

Panicked, you may say: But I simply don’t have time for this — there’s a bottom-line to focus on! How would I even begin capturing the best of what my employees have to say?!

And to that, we say: don’t you worry. Tribute is here.

We are excited to announce that last week, Cheddar — the on-demand video news network — used Tribute to create an awesome video (above) of Cheddar employees sharing exactly why they love their jobs. The kicker? It took Cheddar less than one (1!) hour to gather all these videos.

So thrilled with the final video — a highlight reel edited by the Tribute team — Cheddar even shared it on live TV.

Tribute has emerged as the easiest and most efficient way to market your company to prospective employees and potential clients. Showcase exactly why your company is unique, while letting your employees be heard.

Create the most amazing (and easy!) recruitment videos with Tribute. Get in touch for more info!

Well, gratitude is gratitude! Whether it is for a person or a business, we are committed to making it easier for people to share their kind words and appreciation.

We are already working with  great companies across the globe (Caribou Coffee, Cleveland Clinic and Lingo Live)  to streamline their video collection and you can check out a quick sample from one of our early partners, Causebox below.

Gratitude Stories: Dan’s 60th Birthday

“Gratitude can transform common days into thanksgivings, turn routine jobs into joy, and change ordinary opportunities into blessings.”

– William Arthur Ward

Gratitude is the simplest path to a happy life. We’ll be the first to admit that with so much going on each day, it’s so easy to forget. That’s exactly why we created our #GratitudeStories feature. Each week our staff cuts together a one-minute highlight reel from an inspiring Tribute and tells the story behind it. We hope these videos serve as a little reminder to say the nice things in your head and celebrate your friends every single day.

We are delighted to introduce Kelsey and her father-in-law Dan for this week’s Gratitude Story. Kelsey reached out to us to help make this milestone birthday something special and that that’s exactly what happened.

Why did you decide to give this person a Tribute?

Kelsey (Daughter-in-law): Because he has made such an impact on so many different people and everyone deserves to hear how much they have enriched the lives of those around them.

What is your favorite thing about this person?

Kelsey: He marches to the beat of his own drum and never apologizes for it. He is one of the most hardworking, loyal, and driven people I have ever known.

What were the circumstances when they received their Tribute? (ie. Where, When, How?)

Kelsey: He was visiting Chicago (where we live) to celebrate his 60th for a fun filled weekend. We had gathered over 25 video submissions that made an hour long video. We gathered together over food and drinks to unveil the video we had secretly been working on…

What was their reaction while watching their Tribute?

Kelsey: The reaction was extremely emotional. We watched with family members and everyone experienced a full range of emotion while listening to the videos. There were tears, laughter, and several common themes that every person touched on when speaking about Dan. It was amazing to watch Dan react as he heard people say things they admired in him that they had never actually said to him before.

How did this make you personally feel?

Kelsey: I think we sometimes forget how impactful words and kindness can truly be to someone. And hearing everyone share the love and admiration they have for Dan made everyone, including myself, feel even luckier to have him in my life.

Please ask the Tribute recipient how it made him/her feel to receive their Tribute.

Kelsey: He said it was the most special gift he had ever received and made his milestone birthday extremely special. He said the kind words and memories meant more than we will ever know. And he said if he is ever having a bad day he is going to watch this video and remember all the people who love him.

Meditation for the Masses

Last week we joined 2,000 other mindful New Yorkers at SummerStage Central Park for a 20-minute group meditation, sound bath, and live musical performances hosted by The Big Quiet.

We were so honored to join a bunch of uber-cool wellness brands like Thinx, Sky Ting Yoga, Outdoor Voices, and MNDFL to be featured at the event. We brought along our Tribute booth and captured individual testimonials from attendees who ranged from life-long meditators to first timers checking it out for fun.

Meditation involves more than sitting silently. It involves breathing, listening, acknowledging your thinking and then, letting go. Most importantly meditation is what you make of it, and The Big Quiet offers just that. It’s a you-do-you kind of meditation. So you can count your breaths, lay down, sit up straight, repeat a mantra, whatever brings you peace is good to go (as long as it’s quiet!)

Dr. Herbert Benson of Harvard Medical School conducted scientific studies to test the health benefits of meditation and determined that meditation could be used successfully in treating physiological problems, such as high blood pressure, heart disease and migraine headaches, as well as autoimmune diseases such as diabetes and arthritis. It’s also known to improve our happiness by up to 25%.

Andrew even got his 15 seconds when he was featured in an article for Well+Good on meditation techniques. This was his tip:

Screen Shot 2016-07-28 at 1.49.36 PM.png“Rather than finding new time to meditate, leverage the time you have—like on your daily commute. Whether you’re on a train or have some sort of waiting time between two things, just replace the time you would spend on your phone and sit with your eyes closed—just count your breath for whatever that time is. Don’t even think of it as meditation, just allow yourself to be still for those few minutes. You don’t have to make it a big thing but the second you sit and count 10 breaths, that’s all you think about, you’ll understand how it makes you feel. Once you feel it, it’s hard to stop doing it.”

Find all the tips, tricks, and hacks in the full article here.

If you have an event coming up and would like us to be a part of it, don’t hesitate to contact us at support@tribute.co to book your very own Tribute booth!

Tribute Booth @ The Big Quiet to promote Meditation

On Wednesday July 13th we’re bringing our Tribune booth out to SummerStage Central Park for a mass meditation party with The Big Quiet.

unnamed (1)

The Big Quiet is a mass meditation movement that hosts giant moments of silence in unique spaces and places for people with any level of meditation experience. Their mass meditation and sound bath in Central Park will include 2,000 people along with fun performances such as acapella R&B groups, indie vocalists, loop-station violinists, solo pianists and more.

Make sure to check out the Bazaar where we’ll have our one-of-a-kind Tribute booth alongside some other amazing companies like Outdoor Voices, Thinx, MDFL, Sky Ting Yoga, and Sweetgreen.

Our Tribute booth is an updated (and less expensive) take on the time-tested photo booth. Rather than just silly photos, attendees have an opportunity to share a heartfelt message or story at the event. Our team collects the high-quality footage and creates a timeless Tribute highlight reel of the best testimonials.

Check out this awesome highlight reel we created for Women’s Foodservice Forum (WFF) using Tribute booth for one of their leadership events:

We hope to see you there!

HRC Releases a Heartbreaking Tribute

Orlando is more than a vacation destination. Orlando is these divided states, these people. Orlando is us.

On June 12, 2016, 49 people were killed and 53 wounded at a gay night club in Orlando, Florida. It was the deadliest mass shooting by a single gunman, and the deadliest incident of violence against the LGBT community in US history.

In response, Human Rights Campaign has released a beautiful 18-minute Tribute directed by Emmy Award-winning Ryan Murphy and Ned Martel. With the support of their colleagues, the video features a diverse cast of 49 actors, directors and other entertainment leaders recounting individual stories of the people killed.

“The 49 heroes who lost their lives on June 12 were brothers and sisters, sons and daughters, friends and neighbors, boyfriends and girlfriends, husbands and wives. They were mostly young and mostly Latinx. But above all, they were human beings who were loved, and who had hopes and dreams for long, full lives,” said HRC President Chad Griffin.

You can watch the full HRC Tribute video below:

Here at Tribute we were incredibly moved by this video and send our love to the families and friends of each and every Orlando victim.

Video – Andrew Speaking At The Legacy Show

On May 23rd, Andrew had the pleasure of sharing our founding story and mission at The Legacy Show. The show is a new take on storytelling that entertains its listeners while getting them to think about their lives in a brand new way.

The Legacy Of You is an organization dedicated to inspiring people to be the best version of themselves, leave behind a positive legacy, and pursue passions productively. They’re known for choosing speakers and presenters who “gave a middle finger to the status quo” so naturally, we were honored!

He spoke along withs Dion Flynn, a comedian/actor best known as Barack Obama on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and Kambri Crews, creator, and operator of Q.E.D.

Check out Andrew’s story, and of course, his passion for #gratitude and spreading #love through #positiverelationships at #TheLegacyShow above.
