To combine videos on Mac, open the first clip in QuickTime Player and choose Edit, then Add Clip to End. That covers a straight join. Mismatched footage, music or captions want iMovie instead.
You cannot join YouTube videos on YouTube. The Studio editor trims and cuts one upload and has no command for joining two. Put the source files together in an editor, then upload the result once.
To cut video in iMovie on an iPhone, put the playhead where the cut belongs, tap the clip, tap the Actions button and tap Split. On a Mac the same job is Modify, then Split Clip.
